Letter for Nobusan from USA

Dear Nobu-san,

We remember with fondness the tour you gave us of Kyoto.

In some ways we felt like deer staring into the headlights with all the new history, and physical buildings and places to explore; but now that we are home and have had time to process we realize what a privilege it was to be guided by you.

We had been to Hiroshima the week prior, and to the Iwakuni Castle and the Water Park below it that honors the Samurai, just days before.

The history tour of Kyoto Imperial palace, warlords, shoguns, the bamboo wood, the Golden Pavilion, the beautiful gardens and finally the drive through the Geisha district streets added to what we were already learning about Japan.

We went home and watched the Last of the Samurai, and decided to watch Shogun soon.

We appreciate your sense of humor, (the AC in the car being the perfection of wisdom).

I loved how you pointed out the nightingale call before we experienced the nightingale floors at the castle so we could connect the sounds.

You were willing to answer our questions that could only come from Americans who were working at connecting the historical dots.

Thanks so much for your kindness and the fun day!

Thank you very much for your great feedback.

I am happy to hear the privilege of your tour was my guide in Kyoto.

Both of you are very knowledgeable and polite.

Before you visit Japan, you would research our culture in advance.

Thanks to your deep knowledge, I also enjoyed our tour a lot.

We visited some important places this time.

We have good off-the-beaten tracks places.

I hope I will be able to guide you these places next time.

Thank you again for your kind review.

Best Regards,

Nobuaki Nagata
